About Us

FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) Team 4965 FIRE began as two FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) teams 7354 Smoke and 311 Fembots during the 2013-2014 season. Because we were inspired by FIRST priciples we set out to start an FRC team in 2014. FIRE stands for Far-reaching Inspirational Robotics Education. We currently work out of the Tri County Technical College Industrial Technology Center in Pendleton, South Carolina. The team consists of high school students from all throughout Anderson County but we will accept any high school students willing to travel to our meeting location.

Our goal is to teach students about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) principles and to inspire them to go into a STEM career.

Students on our team learn about the design process and learn how to work as a team to complete a common goal. Students also get the opportunity to build, wire, and program a robot. However, the team doesn't just accept students that are interested in engineering. We also need students who are interested in business, digital media, and web design.

Students on the team compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition. In this competition, they have six weeks to create a robot to compete in a game. They then get the opportunity to travel to competitions in places like Myrtle Beach, SC, and Knoxville, TN.
